CAROLYN D. GREENSPON, LICSW
Partner
Carolyn Greenspon brings over 25 years of experience guiding family enterprises as they navigate generational transitions and evolve their governance structures and processes. Her work centers on helping families manage the emotional and relational complexities that often come with joint ownership and shared wealth.
A passionate mentor and educator, Carolyn is deeply committed to supporting intergenerational collaboration and preparing the rising generation for leadership within the family enterprise. Her approach fosters clarity, resilience, and continuity, enabling families to create and reevaluate governance structures that allow the legacy to thrive in service of the vision for the future.
As a fifth-generation member of a business-owning family - and having served as a trustee and board member - Carolyn draws from both specialized training and lived experience. She understands first-hand the dynamics of stewarding shared assets across generations and is guided by her belief: “When you take care of the family, you take care of the enterprise.”
Carolyn is frequently invited to share her perspectives at industry conferences and has been regularly invited to lead sessions of the Family Enterprise and Wealth course at Columbia Business School. Her insights on intergenerational leadership, governance, and relational dynamics have also been featured in Trusts & Estates Magazine and other publications.
Before joining Relative Solutions, Carolyn worked as a psychotherapist and led a private consulting practice focused on enterprising families. She holds a BA from Duke University, an MSW from Simmons College, postgraduate certifications in Substance Abuse Treatment and Child Psychotherapy, and completed the “Governing the Family Business Executive” program at Kellogg School of Management. Carolyn is a member of the Family Firm Institute (FFI).
